Fête de la Musique - Free Concert of European Music
This event is a special collaboration between EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture), Alliance Française Wellington, the Goethe-Institut Neuseeland, and the French, Polish, Irish and Hungarian embassies to New Zealand.
This afterwork concert is the perfect opportunity to enjoy rock, folk and contemporary music from various European artists in the intimate setting of the Goethe-Institut in Wellington. And this year, we are excited to present musicians and singers from France, Ireland and Poland, here in Wellington!
The Fête de la Musique is an annual celebration in France held on a single symbolic date, 21 June, the day of the summer solstice. A major popular event, free of charge and open to all musicians, amateurs of all levels and professionals alike, it celebrates living music and highlights the breadth and diversity of musical practices, as well as all musical genres. It is open to all audiences and helps to familiarise young and old from all walks of life with all forms of musical expression (taken from the Ministère de la Culture website).
We are delighted to offer this free concert to members of our community here in the capital. You won't want to miss it!
